Private Pay—                 

I charge the fee listed above for the session at time of service. I would be happy to provide you with a superbill—a detailed receipt—to submit to your insurance on your own for direct reimbursement. Reimbursement depends on each individual’s insurance plan, co-pays, and deductibles. Insurance can be a complicated and confusing system to navigate. If you plan to submit for reimbursement, I would recommend calling the member number on the back of your insurance card and asking about the following:

-What are my Out of Network mental health benefits?

-What is my co-pay?

-What is my annual deductible for Out of Network benefits and how much is remaining?

-When does my deductible reset?

-Is there a per year session limit for Out of Network mental health sessions?

 Private Pay? Why?—  

To put simply, I do not believe insurance companies should determine the care you receive. Insurance does not look at an individual and assess for need-therefore, I do not feel insurance should determine: the amount of sessions you are able to have, the frequency or duration of sessions, which diagnoses are acceptable for reimbursement, or which interventions they will/will not support.

I want you to receive the individualized treatment that you need and that works for you. I want treatment plans and treatment to be set by you and me, not dictated by an insurance provider or a contract for care. Ultimately, I want to dedicate my time and energy to you and your treatment, rather than battling with insurance about coverage and payment.

I feel strongly that everyone should have access to affordable care. Ideally, we would have a system that allows coverage for all mental health care needs. I know some depend on insurance and their In-Network providers in order to receive services-if this is the case and I am unable to accommodate your needs, please let me know how I can support you in getting the care you need.

Payment—                          

I accept all major credit cards as a form of payment. A credit card must be kept on file and payment is due at time of service.

Cancellation policy—

If you are unable to attend session, please provide notice at least 24 hours beforehand. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice are charged a $100 fee that is not covered by insurance companies.
